April 9, 2015 – NAZ Today provides some helpful tips for this year’s tax season.
The last day to submit taxes is Wednesday, April 15th. Tom Broderick from the Northland Free Tax Assistance to discuss options if someone misses the deadline.
Broderick says the IRS gives us three years to file our taxes, so taxes for 2011 are also due April 15th. After that, no refund will be awarded, he adds. However, if you file your taxes from 2012 – 2014, you will still get a refund, but fees may apply, Broderick says. If you file late and you owe money to the IRS, you pay interest on that amount, which builds up every month, Tom concludes.
