The Brookings Institution's Metropolican Policy Program will help develop a strategy to support job creation in Rhode Island. Governor Gina Raimondo, who requested the assistance of Brookings, said the institution will focus on the state's advanced industries. Mark Muro, senior fellow and policy director at Brookings, said Rhode Island has a lot of potential, but needs a focused, forward-looking action plan. The strategy is expected to be completed by the end of the year. (AP)
